Chainlink developers have announced the launch of a new architecture called Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) on the core network. They provided technical details of its components. The release, unveiled at the SmartCon event, marks a significant expansion of Chainlink’s capabilities and aims to support multi-chain ecosystems to meet the growing demands of both financial institutions and the Web3 sector.

CRE provides developers with a modular toolset that allows them to create custom workflows without having to write additional code. This allows programmers to select only the tools they need – whether it’s reading data from the blockchain or integrating with APIs – and combine them to create optimal solutions for their application’s challenges. In this way, each module acts as a building block, speeding up the process of creating decentralized applications and reducing technical barriers.

The new architecture aims to support cross-chain tokens (CCT), making the process of creating tokens compatible with multiple blockchains more accessible and efficient. CRE also supports Data Streams for hyperscaling, which increases data throughput, ensuring high performance even with large data streams.

Among key innovations, Chainlink introduced features such as cross-chain steaming with Lido and support for data privacy via ANZ. This innovation is important as it provides greater trust and data protection for enterprise customers. In addition, CRE includes developments such as DECO Sandbox and SmartData, which open up additional opportunities to create more flexible and secure applications in a blockchain environment.
